AdGoldrush is the online arm of a company most South Africans know from the high street rather than the browser: the Goldrush Gaming group runs slot venues across several provinces, and the second step of its online welcome package hands you a drink voucher and R250 of in-store play at the nearest one. That heritage shows in the product. The site is licensed by the Northern Cape board, the lobby holds more than 3,300 games from 26 studios, there is live poker and Thunee alongside the usual sportsbook, and the cashier lists SnapScan, Capitec Pay and Ozow next to the cards. What the operator does not publish is the fine detail of withdrawals, so this review leans on the general terms where the cashier is silent. Everything below was read on goldrush.co.za on 15 September 2026, logged out, and every screenshot comes from that visit.
Welcome journey: register and Goldrush credits 50 free spins on Gates of Olympus with no deposit. Four deposit matches follow, one after the other: 100% to R10,000 plus 100 spins, 75% to R3,000 plus the venue voucher, 100% to R5,000 plus 50 spins, and 100% to R10,000 plus 150 spins. Each bonus needs 30 times turnover (25 times on the third) and pays out at most five times the bonus issued; the first deposit can be as small as R25. Spins last two days from the moment they are credited and the whole journey closes seven days after you sign up. 18+, new South African customers only. T&Cs apply.

Kerlifon, Kathu and a licence that renews every March
The footer of every page names Kerlifon (Pty) Limited, registration 2014/035259/07, as the company behind goldrush.co.za and says it is licensed and regulated by the Northern Cape Gambling Board. The licence page goes further than most South African operators and publishes the certificate itself: a bookmaker operator licence issued under sections 44 and 58 of the Northern Cape Gambling and Liquor Act 6 of 2024, signed by the board’s chief executive, made out to Kerlifon Pty Ltd trading as Goldrush at Shop 1, Kathu Shopping Centre, Ben Alfred Road, Kathu. It is marked as a renewal dated 31 March 2026 with an expiry of 31 March 2027, and the conditions box notes that the licence must be renewed by the last day of March every year. No licence number is printed on the certificate, which is why our strip at the top of this page quotes the renewal date instead.
AdThe footer also claims bookmaker licences in six provinces, which fits a group that operates physical venues around the country, and the general terms give a Roodepoort street address for the online business. The regulator itself keeps a site at ncgb.co.za, where the licensee categories are listed; it does not publish a searchable register, so the certificate on the operator’s own page is the document to check. The 18+ notice, the National Responsible Gambling Programme number 0800 006 008 and links to the National Gambling Board, FICA and the PAIA manual all sit in the same footer.
The 50 registration spins: what they pay and how quickly they expire
Registering an account is enough to receive 50 free spins on Gates of Olympus; no deposit and no code are involved. The catch is time. The welcome terms say free Gates of Olympus spins are valid for two days after they are issued, so an account opened on a Friday evening and forgotten until Monday will have lost them. The terms do not print a stake per spin or a cap on what the 50 spins can win, and they do not say whether the winnings sit in the bonus wallet; what they do say is that no withdrawal is permitted while any bonus is active in the account, and that a deposit must be turned over at least once before any money leaves. Treat the spins as a free look at the lobby rather than a route to a payout.
One habit is worth adopting from the start. Because each step of the journey only unlocks once the previous one is complete, and because the whole package expires seven days after registration, the operator is effectively asking you to make four deposits in a week. Nobody has to do that; the registration spins and the first deposit match stand on their own, and the later steps simply lapse if you stop.
Four deposit matches, 350 spins and a drink at the venue
Goldrush calls its welcome package a journey, and the marketing line is “up to R25,000 and 350 free spins”. Adding up the four steps gives a slightly different picture: R10,000 plus R3,000 plus R5,000 plus R10,000 is R28,000 of maximum bonus, while the spins come to exactly 350 (50 at registration, then 100, 50 and 150). The table sets out each step as printed on the welcome journey page on 15 September 2026.
Ad| Step | Match | Extra | Minimum deposit | Turnover | Payout cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Registration | none | 50 spins on Gates of Olympus | none | n/a | not printed |
| 1st deposit | 100% to R10,000 | 100 spins on Gates of Olympus | R25 | 30x the bonus | 5x the bonus, max R50,000 |
| 2nd deposit | 75% to R3,000 | Free drink and R250 in-store play at a Goldrush venue (not Western Cape or Free State) | R25 | 30x the bonus | 5x the bonus, max R15,000 |
| 3rd deposit | 100% to R5,000 | 50 spins on Gates of Olympus | R50 | 25x the bonus | 5x the bonus, max R25,000 |
| 4th deposit | 100% to R10,000 | 150 spins | R50 | 30x the bonus | 5x the bonus, max R50,000 |
The numbers that decide whether this is good value are the turnover and the payout cap. Thirty times the bonus on a full R10,000 first deposit means R300,000 of slot play before the bonus balance can be withdrawn, and whatever that play produces is capped at R50,000 on the way out. Scale it down and the same rules bite less: a R500 deposit earns R500 of bonus, needs R15,000 of turnover and can pay out up to R2,500. The operator’s own example makes the point in reverse, noting that a R5,000 deposit gets a R5,000 bonus with a R25,000 payout ceiling. The bonus is credited immediately after a qualifying deposit, cancelling a bonus yourself means it cannot be put back, and the drink voucher on step two is redeemed in person, so players in the Western Cape and Free State get the 75% match without the venue extra.
“Goldrush promo code”: there is not one, and the existing-player offers are not codes either
More people search for a Goldrush promo code, especially one for existing players, than for any other Goldrush phrase. On 15 September 2026 there was no code field on the registration form, no code printed on the welcome journey page, and no code attached to any promotion on the promotions page. The welcome spins arrive on registration, the deposit matches arrive on deposit, and the loyalty offers are switched on inside the account. Any page claiming a working Goldrush bonus code is describing something the operator does not run.
What existing players actually get is a rotation of promotions without codes. The busiest on our visit was a weekly cashback of up to 10%, paid on Tuesdays to players who lost R3,000 or more between Tuesday midnight and the following Monday night. Beside it sat a R1 Million Vault Cash Call competition with Heart FM running from 17 August to 26 September 2026, Amusnet jackpot cards, loyalty discounts and a My Goldrush loyalty app, a 2 Up early-payout rule and a multi soccer bonus on the sportsbook, a Ladies Night promotion and a birthday bonus written into the general terms. None of these needs a code and most need an opt-in from inside the account, so check the promotions page after you log in rather than before.
Gold Reels: 3,322 games, 26 studios and the Top Slots row
Slots live under a tab called Gold Reels, and the counters on the filter bar are the operator’s own: 3,322 titles in All Games, 2,108 of them slots, 851 with a buy-bonus feature, 111 new releases, 15 in the 1000 Series, a Drops and Wins shelf and small crash and scratch categories. The provider filter lists 26 studios. Pragmatic Play, EGT Digital and Greentube carry the Top badge; Nolimit City, Big Time Gaming, Hacksaw and Now Now Gaming are flagged as new; and the rest of the roster runs through Booming Games, Betsoft, Amusnet, Blueprint, Endorphina, Revolver Gaming, Funky Games, GMW, 3 Oaks, NetEnt, Red Tiger, Pascal Gaming, Spinomenal, Apollo Play, NetGaming, Yggdrasil, BetGames and Spribe. A Yggdrasil banner announcing new slots was the first thing on the lobby page.
AdThe homepage Top Slots row on the same day was Sweet Bonanza 2500, EGT Digital’s 10 Crown Hot, Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, Greentube’s Lucky Spin Jackpots, the original Gates of Olympus and 50 Red Hot 7 Clover Link, and the lobby grid opened with Sugartime, 20 Dazzling Roll, Majestic King, Ra vs Osiris, Story of Medusa II and Sizzling Hot Deluxe. That is a lobby with two clear leanings, Pragmatic Play’s high-volatility hits and the classic fruit and jackpot titles from EGT and Greentube that do well in South African venues, with the newer studios filling in around them. Each tile shows a small player count, a nice touch that tells you what is actually being played.
AdAviator, live poker, Thunee, BetGames and the sportsbook
Aviator gets the first slot in the main menu, which says something about who plays here, and it is joined by a Crash Games section for the rest of the Spribe-style titles. Live Games covers dealer tables and game shows, Live Poker has its own tab, and Thunee, the trick-taking card game played across KwaZulu-Natal, is offered as a category of its own; we have not seen that at any other licensed South African site. BetGames supplies the lottery-style draws, and Lucky Numbers betting runs on draws from around the world with fixed odds.
The sportsbook sits under Sport and covers football, rugby, horse racing, tennis and the rest of the usual calendar, with the 2 Up early payout and multi soccer bonus promotions attached to it. We did not place bets or read the sports rules line by line on this visit; the general terms do carry a separate section for a rugby bet promotion tied to Jesse Kriel, which is the kind of local flavour the group leans into. The blog, updated weekly according to the homepage, carries game guides and promotion write-ups.
Banking: cards, SnapScan, Capitec Pay, vouchers and a R50 withdrawal floor
The banking section of the homepage lists Mastercard, Visa and American Express cards, SnapScan, Ozow, Capitec Pay, EFT and instant EFT, 1Voucher and OTT vouchers, and a MoneyMarket account withdrawal was being promoted on the homepage carousel on 15 September 2026. Goldrush does not publish a table of minimums, maximums or processing times per method, so the figures below come from the general terms and the homepage copy rather than from a cashier we could open without an account.
| Rule | What the terms say | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum withdrawal | R50 | General terms, section 8 |
| Deposit turnover | Every deposit must be turned over at least once before a withdrawal | General terms, section 7 |
| Where payouts go | EFT withdrawals only to the bank account the deposit came from | General terms, section 8 |
| Large deposits | Deposits of R10,000 or more need proof that the money came from your own account | General terms, section 7 |
| Payout limits | R5 million each for table games, slots, crash games, BetGames and sport | General terms, section 8 |
| Speed | “An average turnaround time of 20 minutes” for withdrawals | Homepage banking section |
| Bonus wallet | No withdrawal while a bonus is active in the account | Welcome journey terms |
The 20-minute average is the operator’s figure and applies to approved requests; the first withdrawal on a new account will also have to clear the identity check described below. The R50 floor is low for the market, the same-account rule means you cannot deposit by voucher and withdraw to a bank account that has never funded the account, and the R5 million payout limits are ceilings on winnings per product rather than daily withdrawal caps. We will fill in the per-method minimums and times once we have a funded account to read the cashier from.
Opening an account, FICA and the new Goldrush platform
Sign Up sits in the header of every page next to Login. The general terms say the account application must establish and verify identity under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act before the account is treated as open, so expect to give your ID number and personal details at registration and to upload documents before the first payout. The terms also allow Goldrush to close an account and pay out winnings once a verified ID document or passport has been supplied in a dispute, and to refuse accounts where the documents do not match the person using them, which is standard for a licensed bookmaker.
One thing to notice in the menu: a tab labelled New Goldrush Site leads to new.goldrush.co.za, a second platform the group is bringing up alongside the classic one. Our affiliate link and the screenshots on this page all belong to the classic site at goldrush.co.za, and that is where the welcome journey terms are published. If you find yourself on the new platform, check that the promotion you are claiming appears in its own terms before depositing, because the two sites are not identical.
What we liked and what we would change
Strengths
- The licence certificate is published on the site: a Northern Cape bookmaker operator licence to Kerlifon (Pty) Ltd, renewed 31 March 2026.
- 50 spins for registering with no deposit, then a first deposit match from as little as R25.
- 3,322 games from 26 studios, including Hacksaw, Nolimit City, Big Time Gaming and Yggdrasil, with live player counts on the tiles.
- Thunee, live poker, Aviator and BetGames beside the slots and sportsbook.
- SnapScan, Capitec Pay, Ozow and voucher deposits, a R50 withdrawal minimum and a 20-minute average payout claim.
Weak spots
- 30x turnover on the deposit bonuses and a payout ceiling of five times the bonus.
- Free spins expire two days after they are issued, and the whole journey ends seven days after registration.
- No per-method cashier table: minimums, maximums and processing times are not published.
- The venue voucher on the second deposit is worthless to players in the Western Cape and Free State.
- Two platforms with the same brand, and the promotion terms live on the classic one.
Our score
3.9 / 5. Goldrush earns its marks on the things that are hard to fake: a published licence certificate from a provincial board, a lobby that is both deep and current, a wider spread of products than most rivals, and payment rails that suit South African wallets. It loses them on the welcome package, which is generous on paper and demanding in practice, with 30x turnover, five-times payout caps and a two-day life on every batch of spins. Take the 50 registration spins for what they are, decide on the first deposit match with the turnover maths in front of you, and ignore steps two to four unless you were going to deposit that often anyway. If the operator publishes its cashier limits and lifts the spin expiry, the score climbs.
Ready to try Goldrush? Register for 50 spins on Gates of Olympus, use them within two days, and if you deposit, start at R25 rather than the R10,000 cap: the 100% match, 30x turnover and 5x payout ceiling all scale with what you put in. 18+, new South African players, T&Cs apply.
Questions players ask about Goldrush
Is Goldrush licensed in South Africa?
Yes. Kerlifon (Pty) Ltd, trading as Goldrush, holds a bookmaker operator licence from the Northern Cape Gambling and Liquor Board. The certificate published on goldrush.co.za shows a renewal on 31 March 2026 and an expiry of 31 March 2027; the licence is renewed every March.
Does Goldrush give free spins for signing up?
Yes, 50 spins on Gates of Olympus are credited on registration with no deposit. They expire two days after they are issued, and the terms say no withdrawal can be made while a bonus is active in the account.
Is there a Goldrush promo code?
No. On 15 September 2026 there was no code field at registration and no code on any promotion page. The welcome spins and deposit matches are automatic, and the offers for existing players, such as the weekly cashback, are activated from inside the account.
How much is the Goldrush welcome bonus really worth?
The four deposit matches add up to R28,000 of bonus at their caps and 350 spins including the registration batch. Each bonus needs 30 times turnover (25 times on the third deposit) and can pay out at most five times the bonus issued, so the realistic value depends entirely on how much you deposit and how much slot play you were going to do anyway.
What is the minimum withdrawal at Goldrush?
R50, according to the general terms, paid by EFT to the same bank account that funded the deposit. The operator quotes an average turnaround of 20 minutes on approved withdrawals, and every deposit must be turned over once before a payout is allowed.
Which game studios are on Goldrush?
Twenty-six on 15 September 2026, led by Pragmatic Play, EGT Digital and Greentube, with Hacksaw, Nolimit City, Big Time Gaming, Yggdrasil, NetEnt, Red Tiger, Booming Games, Betsoft, Amusnet, Blueprint, Spinomenal, Spribe and BetGames among the rest.
What is the difference between goldrush.co.za and new.goldrush.co.za?
The group is running a new platform beside the classic site and links to it from the main menu. This review, our screenshots and the welcome journey terms all relate to the classic site at goldrush.co.za.
